I’m delighted to announce one of my images from Jo & Rachel’s wedding which was held at Nottingham Trent University has been published in the January edition of Diva Magazine page 17, which is available to buy everywhere. I picked up my copy in Selfridges! The girls were over the moon with the news! It’s their favourite magazine! Happy happy days! The top two images are mine! Here it is in it’s full glory…

Jo & Rachel

When I was asked to photograph Jo and Rachel’s big day I was soooooo excited! First wedding with two brides and two frocks!! Jo & Rach are so much fun and quirky…I was a very giddy lady. Their wedding took place at Nottingham Trent University where Rachel studied and the city where they first met. Here’s some words from the girls and info about the day along with some of my fav shots.. The dresses were from The Wedding Club in Birmingham. They had a pianist during the ceremony – he played Moon River on the way in, and Angry Anderson’s “Suddenly” on the way out. During the drinks reception 1930s big band tunes were played and in the evening DJ (MC Productions), and an Elvis tribute act (booked throughAlive Network) he was brilliant and had everybody up busting some shapes. Rachel’s bouquet was made up of ivory roses and purple lissianthus. Jo’s bouquet was hand made (by Jo) with vintage brooches. Flowers were by Zinc Floral Design, and Annette’s flower stall in Nottingham. One of the readings was a poem written for Rachel by Jo and they had photos of their parents’ weddings on display; the men had waistcoats made from family tartans; and the girls took care of two bay trees and two olive trees for six months – so that they could be draped with fairy lights on the day and the university girls recreated their graduation photo – 15 years’ later! “We used a sketch of the venue on our invitations and that carried through all the stationery. Our ceremony was held in the Old Chemistry Theatre, and the reception was in the Old Library so we tried to pick up on these details. Everyone’s place card was a bookmark with a personalised quote chosen just for them. It took ages to do this, but it was worth it on the day – everyone took them home as a memento of the day” You can also see their wedding blogged on bridesupnorth by clicking on this link.

I’m delighted to announce I did get the Front Cover and two double page spreads in the Winter Edition of the magazine Mosaic Brides

Big thanks again to Mosaic Brides Magazine creative editor Rachel Parry. The venue Crow Hill in Marsden, Huddersfield. Bridal Boutique Lace & Beaux owned by Kirsty Horne and Philippa Lloyd. Make up by the talented Caroline Marsh from Delicate Elegance and hair by Joanne Atkinson Hairs and Graces. Everyone did a great job including the models and a massive thanks goes out to my brilliant assistant Rebecca Dickenson, Creative Director of The Vanilla Rooms Bawtry.

I was approached by Mosaic Brides Magazine creative editor Rachel Parry to photograph a shoot at the stunning venue Crow Hill in Marsden, Huddersfield for the Winter edition of Mosaic Brides Magazine. The dresses I shot are from Bridal Boutique Lace & Beaux owned by Kirsty Horne. Make up was done by the talented Caroline Marsh from Delicate Elegance and the hair by Joanne Atkinson Hairs and Graces. Everyone did a great job including the models and a massive thanks goes out to my brilliant assistant Rebecca Dickenson, Creative Director of The Vanilla Rooms Bawtry. Also, a special thanks to Rachael Parry from Mosaic for asking me to do the shoot and for all your help on the day, I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to do another.

We were going for a vintage feel! Here’s a few teaser shots for you all. Hope you like them! I will be posting a full blog of all the images from the shoot after the magazine is out later this month and copies will also be available at the Mosaic Brides wedding fair at Elsecar Heritage Centre on October 21st. Can’t wait for my copy to arrive in the post. Fingers are crossed that I get the front cover too….

Here’s a peek of the wedding of John Bogg & Giuseppe Gallo from the Award winning salon The Vanilla Rooms. They were married at Mottram Hall in Wilmslow..I have to say it is one of the most emotional weddings I have attended so far. An amazing wedding weekend all round with the English & Italians. I loved every minute of it..Page boys were Ethan and Jake Dickenson sons of one of the Bridesmaids Rebecca Dickenson, Director & Award winning stylist of The Vanilla Rooms and Scott. John also had his sister Liz Brown, Internationally qualified complimentary therapist of The Vanilla Rooms and Vicky Goncalves (John’s niece) as bridesmaids..Hope you like the images! x

Winners of the Upcycled Challenge

I’ve been meaning to share this on my blog for a while now! Last summer I was approached by the lovely ladies at Sell My Wedding to enter a competition run by All Wrapped Up Events and BridesUpNorth. The challenge was to create a fabulous Upcycled Wedding where all items had to be purchased from charity shops or second hand stores including clothing, table names, place cards etc, everything that you usually see at a real wedding.

Our creative ‘Love My Wedding’ team was myself as the photographer, Rebecca Aspin from Sell My Wedding who purchased all of the items, Sarah Hathway from Love My Wedding Invites and Laura Andrew. We went for a Mary Poppins themed wedding and I’m delighted to share the news that we won!!! Here’s the link to our entry BridesUpNorth.

One of the judges, Emma Woodhouse of The Wedding Reporter, said: “Team Love My Wedding is my winner because of the attention to detail, the incorporation of current trends, the cohesive aesthetic, the imaginative reinvention of props and because I flipping love Mary Poppins!

“I also think it has a charming elegance and exudes romance which, quite frankly, are two of my favourite things when looking for wedding inspiration. I can imagine brides would be able to take a great deal from it and use it in their own plans. There are lots of elements that would work individually outside the theme of the shoot. They also seemed to use a vast array of sources to gather their items from and that just goes to show how much can be ferreted out on a small budget.”

Here’s the link to BridesUpNorth where we were announced as the winners and below are some of my favourite images from the shoot. Models were Laura Andrew as Mary and Drew Phillips as the bridesmaid. They both did an amazing job which i’m sure you will agree when you see the images.
